I have reproduced the problem now in a pure TeX (non-Logiweb) context. 
\href seems to be defined such that a newline after \href does not count 
as a space. So it seems that one has to write
   \href{\lgwSomepageUrl}{...}
in place of
   \href {\lgwSomepageUrl}{...}
to avoid problems with self-willed editors that occasionally convert space 
characters to newline characters.
