Jesper took his Ph.D. degree at our department in 1995. Already before finishing his thesis, he moved to Germany and he has worked there since then. In spite of the move, he has maintained good contacts with our department. For example, he has been an industrial partner and an adviser of the PE-lab since its foundation in 1998. Now he is back here again! Instead of making his "habilitation" in Germany, he decided to take his "doctor scientiarum" degree at our department.
Jesper's dr.scient. thesis is a collection of 26 articles plus a 100-page introduction to these articles. Jesper would very much like to see you among the audience. If you choose to participate, you may want to read the thesis beforehand; the link mentioned above gives the details how to get the thesis. Jesper prefers an open discussion and he is prepared to answer your questions (but he was unsure whether the Danish system will allow this; the Finnish system would).
On Jesper's behalf,
Jyrki
