Joint Disease Workshop: Submission
Paper Submission
Papers submitted for the workshop will be review in a double-blind
fashion by members of the program committee and selected based on
originality, clinical relevance, clarity, and overall quality.
The workshop has online submission. A link to the submission site is
given below the instructions.
Dual Submission
Dual submission with the MICCAI main conference is permitted. In case
of acceptance at both the main conference and the Joint Disease
workshop, the authors will be given the choice of where to publish the
paper.
Authors submitting for both the workshop and MICCAI should use the MICCAI
formatting guidelines.
If dual submission is intended, the paper must be submitted using both
submission systems with a note to both program committees that it is a
dual submission. Specifically, during submission to the workshop,
check the "Dual Submission" tick box and give your MICCAI submission number in the comments field.
Format
Papers can be up to 8 pages. It is completely acceptable to write
shorter papers in the style of an extended abstract (like the one used
at SPIE Medical or similar to the formats used at medical
conferences).
Papers are to be submitted as PDF (Adobe Portable Document Format)
formatted according to the Springer LNCS format.
Authors using LaTeX2e for document preparation should use the LNCS
document templates from the Springer website: llncs2e.zip
For inspiration, see the example document provided with the
MICCAI submission guide lines: mymiccaipaper.tex
with corresponding BibTeX file
mymiccaipaper.bib
Authors using Microsoft Word should use the LNCS document template
from the Springer website: word.zip
Colour
The proceedings will be printed in standard black/white
quality. However, we plan to make the proceedings available in
electronic form after the conference. Therefore, authors are welcome
to include color illustrations - accepting the risk that the non-color
printing will look less than optimal in the proceedings.
Anonymity
In order to ensure double-blind reviews, the papers must be written
such that the identities of the authors are not disclosed. Quoting the
MICCAI guidelines, this specifically means that:
- Author and institutional information needs to be removed from the
author list on the title page, as well as on all paper headers.
- Clues directly identifying any of the authors need to be removed
from the main text.
- Every reference to work by the authors must be made anonymous in
one of the following alternative ways:
- References to other papers by the same authors are listed as
"Anonymous" (with no other information) in the bibliography.
- Work by the same authors that appears on mainstream and
readily available publications is cited in the third person,
provided that nothing in the referencing can be traced to the
identity of the authors.
- For instance, "In [5], Hello and Goodbye have proposed ..."
is acceptable, whereas "In [5], we have proposed..." is not, when
reference [5] is listed as "IEEE Trans. PAMI,6(6):721-741,
November 1984.
- Also, "In [5], Muller and Doe have proposed ..." is not
acceptable if [5] is listed as "in press", or, say, "North-Western
New South Wales Symposium on Computer Vision, 1993" (no offense to
North-Western New South Welsh).
