Erik Dam, PhD IT University of Denmark, Copenhagen Image Group |
Erik is project coordinator on the Clinical Applications and Theory of Image Analysis project at the Image group at ITU and the Center of Clinical and Basic Research. His research focus is anatomical shape modeling and quantification of osteoarthritis disease progression. |
Sharmila Majumdar, PhD University of California, San Francisco Department of Radiology | Professor Majumdar is director of the Musculoskeletal Quantitative Imaging Research Group at UCSF as well as being Professor in Residence, Department of Bioengineering, UC, Berkeley. Her research focus is development of quantitative methods for characterizing trabecular bone and cartilage from high field magnetic resonance imaging. |
J Christopher Buckland-Wright, PhD, DSc King's College London Division of Applied Biomedical Research | Professor Buckland-Wright and his group at the Division of Applied Biomedical Research has pioneered quantitative methods within rheumatiod arthritis and osteoarthritis with a focus on advanced analysis of joint x-ray through the use of high definition radiographs from microfocal x-ray units. The research has lead to several standardized methods used in clinical studies. Most recently, they have used the fractal signature analysis to show positive chondro-protective treatment effects on osteoarthritic joints during a clinical study. |
