Conclusion

We have presented an extension of the TCP/IP protocol stack, which allows mobile hosts transparently to switch between different means of communication. This is provided without adding extra communication overhead when mobile hosts are connected to a LAN. Furthermore, a simple scheduling mechanism, which provides cost effective data transmission on low bandwidth links, has been presented.

Further work include performance measurements of the triple point connections, and a study of the behaviour of existing applications when using semi-connected TCP/IP.
